Medication Management
for Mental Health
Feeling overwhelmed is hard enough.
Finding the right medication shouldn’t be.
It’s not easy to feel off balance especially when it starts to affect your mood, focus, or daily life. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, or something else, the right medication can sometimes make all the difference and we’re here to help you figure out what works for you.
Summit Together offers virtual medication management for kids (6+), teens, and adults across Colorado. No long drives and no waiting rooms, simply care that fits into your life.
Whether it’s your first time considering medications or you’ve tried this path before, we’ll work together to move toward feeling better.
Our psychiatric medical provider will listen to your story, talk through your options, and help you find a plan that feels right.
What is Medication Management?
Medication management is more than just prescribing a pill. It’s about making sure that your mental health treatment is safe, supportive, and actually helping you feel better. Our psychiatry clinic supports solutions that are safe for you today, and long-term for your health and wellness.
Through medication management we can help you:
Understand your symptoms, diagnoses, and treatment options
Find the right medication, dosage, and timing for your needs
Watch for side effects and make changes when needed
Work toward feeling more balanced, focused, and emotionally well
Collaborate care with therapists, healthcare providers, other professionals in your care team
For many people, medication works the best when it’s part of a bigger picture. That picture can include therapy, lifestyle changes, or even supplements. We’ll help you find a balance that holistically supports your overall wellbeing.
Whether you’re starting fresh or making changes to an existing plan, we’ll work as a team to create a treatment approach that fits your life and values.
Mental health looks different for everyone and so does treatment. Sometimes that’s medication, sometimes it’s therapy or a supplement, and oftentimes it’s a combinations. Whatever it is, we’ll figure it out together and make a plan fits you.
We offer services for children, teens, adults across Colorado who are struggling with things like focus, stress, sadness, or mood swings.

Specializing in…
-
Mental health challenges can be especially difficult in the early stages of life as children and teens navigate emotions, friendships, school pressures, and identity development. Struggling with anxiety before a big test, outbursts of frustration that seem uncontrollable, or feeling lonely can be overwhelming without the right support.
We’re experts at understanding a child’s stages of development and we ensure that each child or teen receives care that relates to their emotional, cognitive, and social needs.
We understand that giving medications to children can be an especially big decision to make! Some parents come to the first appointment still uncertain whether medication is the something that they want to pursue and that’s understandable. We’ll provide you the education you need and different treatment options so that you feel comfortable and safe.
-
We get it. Transitioning from childhood to adulthood can be a lot more difficult than you anticipated. From managing college or career stress to navigating relationships, independence, and your own personal struggles, this stage of life can be more than what you signed up for.
You may feel like you have a foot in both doors where you feel more independent than a child, but not necessarily confident enough to say that you can face world by yourself. Maybe there’s challenges or trauma you didn’t even realize that you were dealing with for a long time until you grew up and now you’re unsure what to do about it. Or maybe you’re trying to build deeper relationships but find yourself self-sabatoging despite your best intensions. And while dealing with all that… let’s talk about how much pressure it is to decide what career you want to dedicate the rest of your life towards!
We understand. And we’re here to help build confidence, clarity, and understanding, emotional balance within yourself.
-
Not all mental health conditions can simple be explained as chemical imbalances.
Trauma isn’t something that just happened in the past - it can feel like a weight you carry every single day. It may show up for you as constant anxiety that prevents you from being safe, even in your own bed. Or maybe it’s the nightmares, flashbacks, or emotional numbness that makes it hard to connect with what’s going on in reality. Perhaps you find yourself stuck in patterns of fear, self-doubt, or avoidance. No matter how much time has passed, somehow you just can’t move on or feel like you’re strong enough.
We recognize trauma comes in many forms, from a single life-altering even to a series of small but deeply impactful, repeated experiences. We want to understand not what you’re dealing with today, but how your past brought you here so that can understand the core of your story and help you heal.
Types of Medications We May Recommend
There is not “right” medication that works for everyone. And that’s okay! Our job is to help you figure out what makes the most sense for you or your child based on your symptoms, lifestyle, and how you respond over time.
We may incorporate supplements that are backed with evidence-based research to support your mental wellness.
Here’s a look at some of the options we may talk about during your medication management appointments:
Common Medications We Prescribe
Depending on your diagnosis and needs, we may recommend:
Antidepressants including SSRIs and SNRIs (such as sertraline, fluoxetine, or venlafaxine)
Mood stabilizers like lamotrigine or lithium, often used for bipolar symptoms or mood swings
ADHD medications like stimulants (methylphenidate, amphetamines) or non-stimulants (guanfacine, atomoxetine)
Atypical antipsychotics sometimes used for mood disorders or irritability (such as aripiprazole or risperidone)
Anxiety medications that are non-addictive such as Propranolol or hydroxyzine
Sleep medications that are safe and non-addictive like melatonin Prazosin
Supplements for Your Mental Heatlh
Sometimes, a holistic approach is a better approach for our patients. Some examples for supplement recommendations may be:
Melatonin for sleep
Magnesium or L-theanine to reduce stress or anxiety
Omega-3 fatty acids for mental wellness, focus, and brain health
Multivitamins for nutritional support
