  • Not all mental health conditions can simple be explained as chemical imbalances.

Trauma isn’t something that just happened in the past - it can feel like a weight you carry every single day. It may show up for you as constant anxiety that prevents you from being safe, even in your own bed. Or maybe it’s the nightmares, flashbacks, or emotional numbness that makes it hard to connect with what’s going on in reality. Perhaps you find yourself stuck in patterns of fear, self-doubt, or avoidance. No matter how much time has passed, somehow you just can’t move on or feel like you’re strong enough.

We recognize trauma comes in many forms, from a single life-altering even to a series of small but deeply impactful, repeated experiences. We want to understand not what you’re dealing with today, but how your past brought you here so that can understand the core of your story and help you heal.

Janelle Aguilon, APN, PMHNP, Top Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specializing in holistic, person-centered mental health care for children, adolescents, and adults

Meet Your Provider

Hello! My name is Janelle Aguilon, APN
I’m grateful you’re here.

I'm a psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP) equipped with over 10 years of healthcare experience to support you and your mental health. I believe in safe, high-quality care. Knowing that mental wellbeing is not just about medications, I lead with a holistic mindset. I enjoy getting to know my patients, supporting their right they feel heard, and making sure that they feel as comfortable as possible with their treatment. I specialize in working with children, young adults, and trauma/PTSD.

We understand the mental health challenges of the Lakewood community

  • Many Lakewood households are dual-income families navigating busy schedules, childcare demands, and school stress. When a child is showing signs of ADHD, anxiety, or emotional dysregulation, or a parent is battling burnout or depression, it can feel overwhelming to get help. Our virtual psychiatry model makes it possible to access care without missing work or rearranging your entire day.

  • Teens in Lakewood face growing academic expectations, social media pressure, and complex emotional challenges. We regularly support adolescents dealing with depression, school anxiety, self-esteem issues, and peer conflict, offering a safe, supportive space to work through their emotions and build healthy coping skills.

  • While Lakewood is close to Denver, many residents still face long waitlists or feel uncomfortable with traditional clinical settings. We serve patients who prefer discreet, judgment-free care—especially those in underserved or multicultural communities where mental health stigmas may be a barrier.

  • As a Filipino American, I understand how culture shapes our views on mental health. In many families, emotional struggles are kept quiet or misunderstood. We prioritize culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care for Lakewood’s diverse community—including immigrant, first-generation, and multicultural households. This is a safe space where your identity, values, and background are respected. You don’t have to choose between culture and care—you deserve both.

  • Lakewood attracts many newcomers, and while the city is welcoming, adjusting to a new place can trigger feelings of loneliness, anxiety, or loss of identity. We support individuals navigating life transitions, relocation stress, and the emotional challenges of starting over.

  • With proximity to Denver and the pressures of modern suburban life, many adults in Lakewood feel like they’re always “on.” This can lead to high-functioning anxiety, emotional fatigue, or difficulty slowing down. Our approach honors your need for flexibility while offering grounded, steady support that meets you where you are.
