Is your child struggling with…
You know your kid best, yet you’re exhausted from trying to figure out what your child needs.
These are big feelings that you’re dealing with and just like it’s hard for your child to deal with them, it’s hard for you to support them through it as well. It’s not like your child needs “fixed,” but the tools or resources that you’re giving them don’t seem to help enough. And you’re worried about what this means for them as they grow up.
Here’s what we’ll do together.
Children that feel better, do better.
We specialize in children and adolescents 6 years old and above. We recognize that your child’s behaviors aren’t something they want to do, but reaction to the negative thoughts and emotions that they’re feeling. We take a teamwork approach where we’ll work together to identify what’s the root problem causing your child to struggle. Sometimes that involves comparing and contrasting their behaviors between home, school, and with friends. If needed, we can request additional information from teachers.
We have a deep understanding on a child’s stages of development and how certain mental health conditions such as ADHD or autism can especially be difficult to deal with as a child. We ensure that each child or teen receives care related to their emotional, cognitive, and social needs. We also understand as parents that the biggest priority is to keep them safe! So we’ll make sure that you understand your treatment options and answer any questions that you may have along the way.
Our ultimate goal is for your child to be able to focus on “being a kid” with the capability of thriving emotionally and confidently so that they’re set up for success for the years to come.
What we will work on:
Imagine a life where your child…
Can manage frustration, disappointment, and stress in healthy ways.
Feels confident in themselves, recognizes their strengths, and can handle challenges with a growth mindset.
Communicates their needs, sets boundaries, and maintains healthy relationships with friends and family.
Can concentrate on school work, keep up with hobbies, and work towards their personal and school goals.
Can talk about their feelings, using coping strategies, and navigate emotions without a big outburst or withdrawal.

The idea of giving your child medications to take regularly is a big decision! It’s a personal one too. Some signs to watch out for that may warrant the consideration of starting medications for their mental health include:
If their emotions or behaviors are making it hard to succeed in school, at home, or with friends.
If they’re experiencing intense mood changes, panic attacks, or extreme irritability that doesn’t improve with time.
If therapy, structure, or other support systems haven’t been enough on their own.
If their distress is affecting their self-esteem, sleep, or ability to enjoy life.
We take a gentle, thoughtful approach to care, and that includes having a conversation with parents who still aren’t sure whether they want to start medications. We’ll always prioritize what’s safe and what’s best for your child’s unique needs.

We use evidence-based practices to prescribe or recommend medications or supplements that are safe for children. Whether you are an adult or child, we only prescribe medications that are nonaddictive as we believe in sustainable answers for your mental health.
Medical care will naturally involve parents or guardians more than therapy. That being said, we like to honor having private time with our patients so especially as a child turns into a preteen or teenager, we structure our appointments to have some time for them to be by themselves to encourage them to open up.
Sometimes it’s difficult to know what exactly is going on when your child goes to school. In that case, we’ll work with your child’s teachers to get feedback and incorporate this into our treatment goals.
-
Even if your child is young, we need them to be in each appointment per insurance & billing requirements, and also to give them chance to speak for themselves especially if they’re feeling bothered by their treatment!
