Colorado Psychiatric Treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Trauma

Mental Health Evaluations & Medication Management

Gentle, Trust-Based Support to Help You Heal. One Step at a Time

Our psychiatry clinic offers compassionate, convenient psychiatric treatment for PTSD and trauma. Our approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and paced with your safety in mind so you can move forward and feel confident again.

At Summit Together Mental Health, we know that trauma doesn’t just “go away.” It can linger in your body, your thoughts, and your relationships long after the event has passed. If you’re feeling on edge, disconnected, or stuck in painful memories, know this: you’re not alone. And healing is absolutely possible.

What Is PTSD and How Does Trauma Show Up?

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related symptoms can happen after a single distressing event or from ongoing exposure to distressing experiences. Trauma isn’t always about what happened. It’s also about how your mind and body had to respond (and may still be responding) to survive.

You might be experiencing:

  • Flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, or nightmares

  • Avoidance of reminders (people, places, or topics)

  • Feeling constantly on edge, hypervigilant, or “jumpy”

  • Trouble sleeping, relaxing, or trusting others

  • Mood swings, irritability, or emotional numbness

  • Feeling disconnected from your body or emotions

  • Guilt, shame, or a sense of being “broken”

Your trauma may come from childhood, relationships, violence, medical experiences, or other life events.
We’ll meet you where you are, with deep respect for your story.

Types of Trauma We Support

  • Chronic stress, emotional neglect, or abuse that began early and affects current relationships, self-worth, and regulation.

  • Emotional or physical abuse, betrayal, or long-term control that impacts your ability to feel safe with others.

  • Exposure to crises, emergencies, or life-threatening situations—whether firsthand or as a caregiver.

  • The lasting emotional effects of discrimination, marginalization, or inherited patterns of survival.

  • Surviving a traumatic event and managing the emotional aftershocks it leaves behind.

You don’t need to have a formal diagnosis of PTSD to get help. If your past is still affecting your present, we’re here to support you.
