W e know how exhausting and isolating it can feel to live with OCD. Whether you’re battling constant intrusive thoughts, stuck in time-consuming rituals, or feeling overwhelmed by anxiety and shame, you’re not alone. Help is here.
What is OCD, Really?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is more than just being neat or particular. It involves unwanted, intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive actions or mental rituals (compulsions) that feel impossible to ignore. These thoughts and behaviors are distressing, time-consuming, and can interfere with school, work, and relationships.
Everyone’s experience is unique, but common signs of OCD include:
Repeated thoughts you can’t control (about germs, harm, morality, relationships, or symmetry)
Feeling the need to check, count, clean, or repeat things over and over
Constant worry about “what if” scenarios
Needing things to feel “just right” before moving on
Avoiding certain people, places, or topics because of obsessive fears
Feeling guilty, ashamed, or alone because of your thoughts
You might know your thoughts don’t make sense but still feel like you have to act on them to feel “safe” or relieve anxiety.
That’s the trap OCD creates. We’re here to help you break free from it.
Types of OCD We Treat
OCD can show up in many different ways. At Summit Together, we provide psychiatric care for:
-
Fear of germs, illness, or dirt—often leading to excessive washing or avoidance.
-
Fear that something bad will happen unless you check things repeatedly (doors, appliances, locks, etc.).
-
Disturbing or taboo thoughts that feel scary or wrong (related to harm, sex, religion, or morality).
-
Obsessing over whether you love your partner “enough” or if they’re the “right one.”
-
Strong discomfort when things aren’t aligned, even, or arranged “perfectly.”
-
Obsessions and rituals in children or teens that interfere with school, friendships, or family life.

We’ll meet you where you are in life. Whether it’s wanting an evaluation for mental health diagnoses, seeking a second opinion on your medications, looking for a new medical provider that hears you out, or even just wanting to look at options and not necessarily start medication management.
All appointments are virtual via HIPAA secure telehealth platforms and appointment frequency is personalized based on what we’re addressing or how comfortable you feel between sessions.
